- KESTON SOLAR THERMAL SYSTEM
- BENEFITS
- Why Solar Thermal?
- By far the most abundant renewable energy source is solar power which provides enough energy in 40 minutes to supply the worlds’ power requirement for a whole year.
- Solar thermal technology is also the most popular alternative energy option in the UK. With a regulatory force behind it and growing awareness of the need for energy efficiency in the home amongst consumers, the demand for solar will rise.
- What savings can be achieved?
- The Energy Savings Trust confirms that Solar Thermal hot water systems can deliver an average of 50% of the hot water requirements of a typical household over a year.
- In summer period, nearly 100% of the hot water needs can be met without the use of the traditional boiler.
- In most cases, it was found that fuel bills for hot water can be halved.
- An investment in a solar thermal hot water system will ensure that no matter how high fuel costs escalate, householders will benefit from this free energy for years into the future.
- Why choose a Keston Solar System?
- Keston offers a packaged system with carefully selected premium quality solar thermal components for maximum performance and compatibility.
- The Keston Solar panel is specially constructed using state of the art materials:
- Titanium coated selective surface absorber panels giving 95% absorption rate, only 3% thermal emission levels
- Low ironed tempered glass with 91% transmittance
- Silicon weatherproofing and one piece channel type glazing gaskets with moulded corners for durability and avoidance of water penetration.

- KESTON qSpa Un-vented cylinder
- Traditional hot water systems require a tank in the loft space, which in turn feeds a cylinder in the airing cupboard, this heats and stores your hot water ready for use.
- This type of system has many failings not least of which a poor flow rate to taps and showers. Secondly as the water is stored in an open tank in the loft it is susceptible to bacteriological infections and pests.
- Furthermore it takes up space, is prone to freezing in winter and noisy.
- Finally it takes considerable time to heat your water.
The solution to all of these issues is a Keston qSpa Un-vented cylinder.
- Because of its design the Keston qSpa takes its water supply directly from the mains which gives you very high flow rates, which means quick filling baths and highly invigorating showers.
- There is no need for power shower units as the Keston qSpa will deliver a much higher performance
Add to this there is no need for tanks in the loft space anymore, therefore you are guaranteed of clean potable water – and no risk of freezing in the winter.
- Also as the qSpa is mains water fed the unit can be fitted anywhere in the house (even in the garage or cellar)
- The design of the unit features a high performance heating coil which reduces the time to heat your water therefore you will never normally run out of hot water.
- The built immersion heater ensures that you have an alternative means of heating your water as a back up.
- Comfort, performance and security are the hallmarks of The Keston qSpa range.
