By using products that conform to this standard, and treating heating systems in line with BS7593, customers can be assured that a central heating system will maintain its efficiency for the lifetime of the boiler.
Water in a central heating system needs to be chemically treated otherwise corrosion and limescale will soon affect a boiler’s efficiency. Research has shown that a new system can be up to 6% less efficient within a matter of weeks if not correctly treated, impacting on CO2 emissions and the environment.
